I write poetry purely for myself, it reflects my thoughts and feelings at the time, and every poem that i write has a piece of myself in it. Although i sometimes look back at some of the early stuff that i wrote and cringe, i realise that is the frame of mind that i was in at the time, and that is why i have written them. I have written in three distinct stages, 2005, 2007, and 2009, at the ages 13, 15, and 17. So just bear that in mind when reading anything i have written.
A lot of my poetry is inspired by the music that i listen to, which is why my tone changes from super aggressive to mild, sweet and gentle. A few lines that always strike a chord with me;
Lamb Of God - Blacken The Cursed Sun: "Better to die quick, fighting on your feet, than to live forever, begging on your knees."
Machine Head - Imperium: "Fuck these chains, no goddamn slave, I will be different."
Black Label Society - Stronger Than Death: "You can't kill what's stronger than death"
Jack Johnson - The News: "Why don't the newscasters cry when they read about people who die?"
Hatebreed - Beholder of Justice: "Beholder of justice, why have you forgotten us?"
Although i am an Atheist, it doesn't mean that I will destroy religious views, i just have my own!
