ThankfulSoulShow poetry

My passion in life is to get to the point where I can take what I have experienced and struggled with in this world and help others. I WANT to be able to relate to people and share with them....let them know they really aren't alone and it is okay to feel what they are feeling. I have come a hard long path to get to where I am and now I know I really can't do anything with out God. He was with me through my emotional abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts and cutting. Though I shoved him aside, I fell flat on my face till he picked me up and started to help me put the pieces back together.

A word of advice: depression is not fun to battle and it isn't something we choose. The choice is how we handle it.

I write what I feel, the thoughts that are going on in my head and the feelings inside. For the most part all the poems were true to my emotions and feelings at the time of being written.

~Some great quotes~

"Emotional pain hurts far more and last far longer than physical pain"

"to be nobody-but-myself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make me everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting" -- ee cummings

"You can close your eyes to reality but not to memories"

"Everyday is a battle, to find the strength to carry on"

"Life is 10% of what happens to you. 90 % of how you react to it!"

"They say you never forget your first love, how can your first love forget about you"

"Judge of a man by his questions rather than by his answers."
~ Voltaire

"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love."

"All say, "How hard it is that we have to die" - a strange complaint to come from the mouths of people who have had to live."
~Mark Twain

Sigh.

If you'd like you can come to this new forum, it's just starting so we don't have that many people but we'd still love to hear and comment on some of your poems or if you have anything else you'd like to sumbit, that'd be great too.

this is very true we don't choose to be depressed...no one wants to be depressed...but for those who are...they decide how they want to handle it and i know that some people don't always handle it in the best of ways...

I was looking at a poem written to me before, I looked up and realized I had another tab open in my browser... It was yours.... I will be reading, I will be feeling, because of how you write....

    Take care, Dave
