TangledWings• Show poetry

I've just begun to have an entirely different outlook on poetry.Call it my own poetic revolution.

Favorite poets include Pablo Neruda
Jelalludin Rumi
Sylvia Plath
Sharon Olds
and today: Denise Duhamel

I'm not going to disregard my older poetry,but I feel like the newer stuff is a bit more up to par with my newly found standards.But,I'm still easing into it.

Art is also a huge part of my life.Gotta love Georgia O'Keeffe and Frida Kahlo."Painting is poetry which is seen and not heard,and poetry is a painting which is heard but not seen."(Da Vinci)So I live by that.

I write mostly free verse poetry,occasionally rhyming,and occasionally,I write in a specific format.I'm easing into real confessional poetry.I won't say its my forte,but you might get the occasional confessional blurb.I rarely write prose,per se.Maybe there's one or two in here...but,anywho...hope you enjoy my schtuff!

    Yah, I miss my girlfriend alot. She moved away over the summer and she lives an hour or so away. It hurts to have her live so far. Even if the hour doesnt seem far away. I still would be sad if she was in the other room. I love her soo much

    Let me just say for the record that I just found lyrics to Elton John's song "Tiny Dancer" and I had absolutely no idea it was even called that...*thinks*...I like it better "hold me closer Tony Danza"...lol...yeah,ok,well,this has nothing to do with my poetry,but that man FREAKING INSPIRES ME!(But "tiny dancer"???)
