I'm proudly showing you here an autograph from "Helena Ballerina":
(now imagine the name written in a beautiful women-handwriting)
uhm well.. i think the influence cummings has on me, is clearly visible.. sometimes more than other times.. but since i discovered him, there's a clear influence on me, which i can't and won't and don't want to deny.
although there is an influence, i'm trying to write in my very own style and follow my own rules of language
i love to play with words and structure. but i hope i don't abuse it, in a way, that it doesnt make any sense... so if you read something and it seems strange to you, keep in mind, that i thought about it, and used it awarely.
i guess the best example for this is "Dreams"
another thing which is importent: english is not my mother tongue... i live in germany, was born in russia, etc... but somehow i dont like to write poems in german.. only shortstorys in german.
my personal favorite poems by myself:
-Black Day
-Dreams
-girl, why dont you believe me
at the moment the third one most, cause it's based on an actual event
-----coming soon:--------------
"think twice before you think"
-------------------------------
hmm well anyway.. at last a quote from cummings, two stanzas which i really love, and which i try to live by
:
----------------------------------------------------------------
(While you and i have lips and voices which
are for kissing and to sing with
who cares if some oneeyed son of a bitch
invents an instrument to measure Spring with?
each dream nascitur, is not made...)
why then to Hell with that: the other; this,
since the thing perhaps is
to eat flowers and not be afraid.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you very much
