My Book Chap 1 - 4
MY BOOK Chapter One - Four
I was a US Contractor working in Iraq.  I am currently working on two books One, Emotions of an Americn in Iraq and the other, Emotions of an American Man.  My poetry is event driven heart felt and Spirital in nature.  I have two Children one 19 year old Son who recently Graduated and a 22 year old Daughter in her second year in College.  I am divorced. I am finally home and looking forward to getting back to normal.  I recently moved to Longmont Colorado with a new Job.  I've been writing for years but got back into writing when I was in Iraq to pass time.  I'd love to here what you think. On Poetry

I just recently realized that my style is: Say what I want to say and end strong.  So if your favorite part of my poem is the last line.  Now you will understand.
Poetry must come from the heart or a fertile imagination.  That is one reason teenagers write it so well.  Mothers are great inspiration and those that have had a tough row to hoe also create beautiful
poetry.  If you want inspiration look know further then your own life experiences and the deeps of your heart.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I believe thats poems should make a statement.  This does in a simple way thats why I love it so
