for the first time
and, unfortunately,
the last time

No more dying
no more lying
no more time wasted
on opportunities chased
and left for dead

Manipulation shed
at the hospital doors
anger deemed inefficient
and counter-productive
Love appointed as
priority
and you

You have always been
and, I may fear,
will always be
the only need
that I cannot provide
so please

Baby
you don't have to love me
but
will you support me?
