Well, I suppose I am just another adolescent girl, like millions of others. That's a shame, as originality is perhaps not one of my ideals, but at least something I greatly covet. I haven't always lived in Holland. I was born in the United States and have lived there for a few years. I miss it a bit, though I have gotten thoroughly used to Holland by now. I have stayed at an international school, though. I have started IB last year, and for all of those people who don't know what that is, it's the two last years of middle school, pre-university. It's a very demanding programme, and I have more homework than I actually learn from, I'm afraid.

But I have been blabbing on again. Forgive me. For people who want to know some things about me, but can't be bothered to read that much, here are a few short facts:

• I am Marieke.
• I love people, and how strange they can be at times.
• I become infatuated far too easily. I am in love with being in love, though I must admit that I currently have no object for my affection.
• I am a daredevil in my own way, though I’m quite acrophobic.
• I am also a bit of a closet exhibitionist.
• I love to laugh, and will do so on many occasions.
• I can become thoroughly annoyed with bad spelling.
• I love being the centre of attention.
• I enjoy clubbing and shopping.
• People stereotype me as a girly-girl. They also believe that my favourite colour is pink.
• My favourite colour is actually red.
• I dislike being drunk, or even tipsy for that matter. It comes from my dislike of losing control.
• I set extremely high standards for myself and for others.
• I absolutely love my friends, and am very loyal and devoted to those who have won this love.
• I am too honest. Not because I try to be, but simply because I am. I don't automatically think of lying as an option. This, unfortunately, leads to my thinking that the rest of the world is equally honest. But I'm currently working hard to solve that little naiveté.
• I am addicted to oranges.
• I love writing, which is how I end up writing about myself for this long.
• I also love procrastinating, which is, naturally, what I am doing right now.

I have been writing for far too long, so I’m going to shut up now.
