StormyRobotShow poetry

Within these poems are bits and pieces of me as a teenager, as a writer, and as a human being. “Memoirs of Nicole,” if you will. Or maybe, “The Life and Times of Nicole.” Writing is simply my oxygen, my home away from home, my own little retreat that society can’t taint. Without writing, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. As the words surge from my mind, the pen scratches hastily on the paper, transforming my every whim into something bona fide, something tangible—words—the essence of writing itself. “Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things.”- T. S. Eliot. A world all my own. Something that is mine, nobody else’s but mine. My words, my feelings, my core, my being. Every poem incorporates a small piece of my life, my experiences, all mixed right in. In a sense, reading my poems is like probing my brain, as if to say, come, and journey into the depths of Nicole’s mind. “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.”- Robert Frost. Salutations and welcome to Nicole’s psyche, a world filled to the brim with chaos, confusion, and unbelievable quirkiness. Comprised in this collection is a medley of my best poetry written during my continuing existence. Poetry. Poesía. Dichtung. De poëzie. Lyrikk. Anyway you slice it, it’s still—in my opinion—the greatest form of releasing stress, expressing your thoughts, and simply being who you really are, the true you, the one and only.

unique, witty, quirky, alternative and wonderful. Too often at AP i see so much of the same- but your poetry is a welcome injection of something different. The best poetry goes where no other author has gone before, where no other author can, and exposes the reader to something they are not prepared for- something new and exciting- something thought provoking. This is what I often see in your poetry, and what i hope to keep seeing.

Keep the ink flowing and the ideas coming.
