Let's see...I suppose I should put some biographical information here. I work at the Kansas City Star newspaper, as a stats editor for the Sports section. I also work at a Mr. Goodcents, but that (thankfully) is not a career-oriented job like the Star is. I write a lot of poetry (though not much lately), and I read far more. I love editing - I have worked for the Pleiades literary journal, among others, reading through submissions. I take poems to pieces sometimes, and some readers appreciate it, and some don't. I'm OK with that. I know what dreck is versus what is compelling poetry. Not that my own work reflects this; it is just as flawed as anyone else's poetry.
Oh, and one note someone is likely NOT to skip over: I went to high school and college with American Idol season 7 winner David Cook. Cook's music might, in fact, be the prompt for my next contest, so look out for it.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
