I have decided to update this page since I see everyone elses,
I notice I have not told anything about myself, so here goes....
I like writing all kinds of poetry...
i really couldn't decribe my style.
I will try to write almost anything.
Some things just turning out much better than others.
My name is Cayla, I am 17 and live in central Arkansas.
Yes, I talk with a southern drawl, no matter how hard I try not to,
it is still there. I learned this when I traveled to Philly last year
on a trip for my school's newspaper. BUT...
Everyone who lives in Arkansas, is not a country hick.
Yea, sure there are those here that live up to that description but most Arkansans are completely normal like everyone else.
I would not be considered the "typical" teenage girl (or so they say).
I LOVE books and I love the English language.
I am currently taking French, and doing okay so far.
I sing Opera, I write for my High School newspaper, I
have had a story I wrote published in a national magazine last year,
here's a link if you'd like to read it:
http://www.teenink.com/raw/Jobs/article/17109/Fallen-Arches/
I have never been on a date,
I attended Governors School this past summer,
I work at Chili's, (formally at Mc'ds)
I volunteer at the library (I LOVE BOOKS),
I am a Senior Class officer for my high school,
and I arranged for a blood drive through Red Cross
at my high school all by myself (which I am very proud to say!)
My plans for the future are to attend College (hopefully Hendrix)
and to double major in English and Marketing
with a minor in Political Science.
My dream job someday would to be an Ambassador,
(LOL, I know sometimes I dream too big)
Before you read this just remember
I have never been on a date, or anything close to a date,
so my opinions are spoken from life lessons learned
from others that have changed many lives even mine.
I am an Aunt to a sweet almost two year old named Caston Blaine.
My brother (now 18 almost 19)
got his girlfriend pregnant when he was 16.
Caston Blaine was born 9 days before my brother turned 18.
I am a firm believer in schools teaching how to
protect yourself instead of teaching abstanance
in schools because that doesn't work.
I have wrote several items on this subject.
The statictics show that it doesn't work so I think it is
time to teach what teens really need to know.
We are not babies and times have changed.
I am proud to say I have choosen to be abstanance
but that was MY choice. Too many teens end up in this
situation and it's really sad. Don't get me wrong,
I adore my nephew, and my brother is a great father.
BUT it has changed so many lives and plans.
What should have been a great senior year for him,
was filled with midnight feedings, diapers and
struggling to make it through school.
(Which he did, I'm proud to say) ANYWAY....
Enough of my ramblings...
I'm just me, and I like who I am.
Quotes I love!!!

This is stolen from my twins page (sorry!)
But it helps me to understand what is really wrong!
