Star-of-DavidShow poetry

Well here it is, my front page...time to talk some crap about myself and talk about my poetry.

To start with, howdy, nice to meet you.

My name is David, but I prefer Dave. My closest friends call me Chickenlegs or Duracell.

Chickenlegs - I have skinny legs, but an insane amount of power and speed, meaning I can run bloody fast lol

Duracell - I don't stop working in sporting situations...ever. I keep going and going and going...

I am from the United Kingdom, specifically a quaint little town about 15 miles outside the capital city London...bollocks it's a crap town I live in but ah well haha

I am 18 years old, and turn 19 on the 3rd September.

I am tremendously in love with sport, especially Rugby. I play for Hertford Colts (previous teams include Cheshunt Senior Men, Cheshunt Youth and Saracens Youth) and am a wing/centre/full back. When not playing rugby I am a 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay sprint specialist. I am proud Captain of my Senior Boys squad at my school, best in the damned District (FACT).

Although she isn't a part of this community, I want to post a public thank you to my friend Charlie. Without her, I wouldn't have changed recently. She made me see that I can't help everyone, not everyone can be saved, and I sometimes have to take time out to put myself first.

I'm going to University in 2009 at Portsmouth to study Sports Development. Hoping to get a job in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Okay, onto my poetry...

My poetry has changed throughout my time here...I could be writing dark depressive things one day, but then i've moved onto love or fantasy the next day. I am changeable to the environment I am in. I do not have a specific topic area, I delve into everything I can, as my main aim is to reach into the very souls of other poets and pick out exactly what they want to hear. I have this knack for reading people, and then writing something special for them to brighten their day, or just something they can relate to which makes them smile or something like that.

I have a wide array of poems...some are complete shit but there are others that I think have turned out reasonably well, especially some of my newer items
Have a browse and see what you think.

Oh, and I love music.

Boyz II Men
Bob Marley
Linkin Park
Funeral For A Friend
Mike Oldfield
R Kelly
Enter Shikari
Pendulum

I like all music, music gives rhythm to life, it gives us our pulse, and above all else, it gives us a beat to move to, and that is the beat of life.

A final mention of some poets I regard with the highest recognition:

Sam-I-Am
MlilAngel
Peregrin

And finally, two of my favourite lyrical quotes:

"We stand before the dawn of a new world" (ZP Theart-Dragonforce)

"Never give up, never give in, never let a ray of doubt slip, never lose hope, never lose faith, there's much too much at stake, upon myself I must depend, i'm not looking for placeor show, i'm gona win" (Brian McKnight)
