My favorite quote of the week:

" its not hard to have faith in God you just got to believe" Rhianna

My Savior

Lost I was

Bound for

Hell for all

The sins I’d

Committed

Sentenced

Condemned

On my way to a hell reserved for Satan and his angels

Though I was wicked and had hurt many others, Jesus

Forgave me of my sins and washed me clean of all my

Faults. I am now bound for eternity as a Prince, a child

Of the king

I’m washed

Purified of

All my sins

There’s joy

In my heart

It replaced

my sadness

I serve him

with joyful

songs in my

heart. For I

love Christ

my one true

Friend who

Shall never

Walk away

Why would you be in rebellion against and reject a God who loves you?

I have found the greatest challenge in life is not becoming rich, powerful, famous, or "successful"......  The biggest challenge in life is closing the gap between what I am and what God made me to be.

I love this quote also:

People may forget what you said, people may forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Eagle Scout Badge
Of all the things I have done in my life,
the proudest is becoming an Eagle Scout.
Even after holding the rank for 28 years,
it comes with responsibility!

A Scout is Trustworthy.
A Scout tells the truth. He is honest, and he keeps his promises. People can depend on him.
A Scout is Loyal.
A Scout is true to his family, friends, Scout leaders, school, and nation.
A Scout is Helpful.
A Scout cares about other people. He willingly volunteers to help others without expecting payment or reward.
A Scout is Friendly.
A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He offers his friendship to people of all races and nations, and respects them even if their beliefs and customs are different from his own.
A Scout is Courteous.
A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that using good manners makes it easier for people to get along.
A Scout is Kind.
A Scout knows there is strength in being gentle. He treats others as he wants to be treated. Without good reason, he does not harm or kill any living thing.
A Scout is Obedient.
A Scout follows the rules of his family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and country. If he thinks these rules and laws are unfair, he tries to have them changed in an orderly manner rather than disobeying them.
A Scout is Cheerful.
A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy.
A Scout is Thrifty.
A Scout works to pay his own way and to help others. He saves for the future. He protects and conserves natural resources. He carefully uses time and property.
A Scout is Brave.
A Scout can face danger although he is afraid. He has the courage to stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at him or threaten him.
A Scout is Clean.
A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He chooses the company of those who live by high standards. He helps keep his home and community clean.
A Scout is Reverent.
A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others.

Though I am a new writer I do like to read poetry that is outside the type that I write.  I want to learn to expand my horizons so I can understand all types of poetry.

Air Force Master Sergeant rank

gulf war vet

I am a retired Air Force Master Sgt.  I am currently working again among soldiers as a defense contractor in the Middle East.  To be exact I live and work in Kuwait.  It is funny to live in a country I helped liberate so many years ago in the first Gulf War. I may be a retired soldier but I am gentle, peace-loving, and giving.  I am also passionate and very emotional. I long for a world of peace and peaceful relationship with others.  I hate fighting and back-biting.  I love the company of a few few friends and I can spend hours with one trusted friend.

"Friends. A simple word isn't it? It's uttered everyday to almost every person imaginable. Who are your friends? I used to think that friends were the people that you could laugh and talk to. Now I know that friends aren't that, they're the people that touch your heart. You could spend hours with them doing nothing at all and it can be the best time of your life, just because it was with them. They're the people you can share your secrets with, cry with, laugh with, and just have fun with. They don't judge you or make you change. They accept you exactly as you are. They look at you and they see a great person, you are the one they love spending time with. You all share something in common and are tied together by memories, tears, laughs and smiles. You're tied together by love for the other. Friendship is the strangest but greatest thing in the world. I find my time with my friends, the best times of my life. My friends are my heart, my soul, my fun, my laughter, tears, love and my life." -Kate Tierney

I try to write to encourage others.  I truly believe that it never costs you a thing to say a kind word to another, but an unkind word may cost you more than you will ever know!
