Souless PoetShow poetry

Chances are you're just another person browsing through aimlessly,
With little purpose and an ample supply of boredom.
On the other hand you could be a new friend,
Current friend,
Maybe even a friend from a bi-gone era.
So hey add me,
Check out my poetry,
See what i'm about.

Me, Me, Me

Well howdy-hi! thanks for stopping by for a glimpse into my lil world :-) Hmm.... Well what can I say.... Im a simple guy (no not in that sense).

I'm a caring person, so if you've got anything bothering you I'm always more than happy to listen, and offer advice where I can.

My Interests

I'm into:
Poetry: Love, Dark, Philosophical, Freestyle and Free Verse, most poetry though those are faves :-)

Alot of the time, when I tell people I'm a poet, I get this kind of reaction,

"ah i can't write a poem"

or

"poetry is rubbish"

(tend to ignore those kinda ppl) or something implying that they can't write any form of poetry at all.

Well to all those that have said it....................
.............................and to those thinking of saying it in the future,

STOP RIGHT NOW.

Poetry >>> to me <<< is all about expression.

An individual or group of peoples expression.

No one person can define a genre entirely. We are all unique individuals with unique perceptions of a whole multitude of subjects and sins.

Never let anyone tell you, "you cant write" or that "that isn't poetry", it is your poetry, your style, your words for describing the situation.

Nobody is better or worse, some might go to greater depths of meaning relating to the same subject, but that is an entirely different matter. Never stop writing, expressing, feeling and most importantly of all, never stop dreaming.

Philosphy: I'm open to Eastern and Western ideas and ideals, though I have little time for Christianity, sorry if this offends.

Photography: Well I dont know many if any famous photographers, I just love to take a good picture and have fun doing it :-)

Ways of Life: Buddhism and Taosim . Dreaming the dreamless, dream and thinking the unthought, thought.

Music: If its got a beat I’ll move my feet. No cheese especially boy band mushy stuff! I like songs with a narrative (story) and a lot of acoustic music. Though in general, if you asked me what kinda music I’m into you wont get a single genre or band. This isn’t me being awkward, its purely for the reason that I like a wide variety of musical genres and cultural sounds. I’ll give anything a listen. I listen to music from lots of different countries as well the UK and USA being the most obvious ones but also some less obvious ones like Belarus and Russia , Africa , Japan and China .

Friend(s)

Friendships

There are good ships,
and there are wood ships,
and ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships,
are friendships,
and may they always be.

The Best of Friends
© Jill Wolf

The best of friends,
Can change a frown,
Into a smile,
when you feel down.

The best of friends,
Will understand,
Your little trials,
And lend a hand.

The best of friends,
Will always share,
Your secret dreams,
Because they care.

The best of friends,
Worth more than gold,
Give all the love,
A heart can hold.

Friend(s)

In life when you fall down,
There are special people that pick you up again.
There are people that remind you,
Who you are and what you mean.
You may have many.
You may have few.
Whoever you are they are there for you.
Friends are the difference between tears and rain.
The division between fear and pain.
The ones that say what everyone else is thinking.
They stretch out their hands,
When in your world you think you’re sinking.

They listen and learn when you crash and burn.

Smile(s)
A Smile

A smile costs nothing, but gives much.
It enriches those who receive,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty
that he can get along without it.
A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.

It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged,
sunshine to the sad,
and it is natures best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged,
borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value
to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much
as he who has no more to give.

Smile(s)

A smile is like pain’s cure
Raw happiness at its most pure

Worn across all faces
Every creed and all races.

Hard to keep
Easy to hide

Creating for others
A sense of pride

Give someone a reason to smile
And they stick around a while

A smile is like a hug for heart
Impossible to stop but easy to start
