SokarjoShow poetry

Greetings and welcome; my name is Sokarjo.

I am a green witch with a deep interest in shamanism and a fondness for Norse & Viking mythology. I adore trees and can't survive very long away from them; I especially love willows. Yes, I'm a tree-hugger, and proud of it! I do believe strongly in faeries and the like. My earth, air and water elements are quite strong, but only one has seen the true nature of my fire.

I'm a pretty laid-back person with an open-mind, at least to a point. But I'm also half Irish and when I do get angry, it isn't pretty. I'm very passionate when it comes to something I care about, and I'm a pretty fiesty little imp when the mood strikes. My biggest annoyance is with people (the majority of humans actually), especially those who follow the crowd and refuse to think for themselves.

I'm a very weird and unusual individual, and darned proud of it, too. Very few people can actually stand me for long, even though I'm pretty laid-back, because I ask questions a lot, and they're not always easy to answer.

I am also interested in photography. I have a business through which I sell my photography called Underhill Creations. Obviously, I like to write... in addition to poetry, I like to write novels. My first one is finished, but not yet published. It is called Tyrfing; keep your eyes open for it someday! My second will be called Children in the Glass, but the rest is a secret for now.

I do believe strongly in faeries and magik.

Sokarjo is my pen name. Sokarjo means "she who seeks". I am told it is Anglo-Saxon. When said aloud, the j is pronounced like a y.

  • Sir Iliad Keys : Hail and Well Met! on January 27
I am Sir Iliad Keys. While I have been a member of this site for around a year I have found precious few poets that I have come to enjoy wholeheartedly. While inquiring of Frodofan about this she directed me to several of her choice poets. I respect her taste, so I am glad to make your acquaintance!
