Right now I can't guarantee that you'll see me around here forever and ever and ever, because I'm looking around at poetry sites right now.
For a long time I was a member of darkpoetry.com (under the screen name BloodySparrow), but I've decided to look in new places as I don't feel like "Dark" describes what I write, if it ever did.
I guess I consider myself a lyricist first and foremost as that's what first interested me in creative writing, although you'll find me doing non-music oriented items from time to time...
I think lyrics fit me, as I'm pretty much stuck with rhyming and meter. At a very fundamental level I feel very uncomfortable writing with out them, unless I'm writing something that's more like an essay or a rant.
What I write about, like the next person, changes from piece to piece. Sometimes I'll write about something very much based in the real world, while other times I'll write something more abstract and meant to be interpreted on a personal level.
Why I write changes from piece to piece as well, sometimes I'll write for the sake of expressing inner feelings and emotions, while other times I'll write for the sake of the skill and craftsmanship involved in the writing.
Right now I'm just giving this site a test run... we'll see what happens
