I'm engaged to the loveliest man I've ever had the fortune to meet. Yes, ladies; there really are men out there who will treat you like a princess and care for you and love you more than you ever imagined or felt you deserved.
My love for him is so strong and so deep that I'm writing more poetry recently and far more easily than I had in the past. All of the intense emotions and love I have for him need a creative outlet and I find great satisfaction in completing poems about him.
Having suffered from many years of depression and despair in the past, as well as pain caused by disease and a heartbreak, I have found that I write poetry better when happy, despite what the 'experts' say.
I would suppose that many might find my poems too sugary-sweet and sickly, but I write them because that's how I am feeling and I don't mind what anybody else thinks, although obviously I would hope that my poems touched all who read them in some small way.

I've had a few people ask about my username, Silverbird. It's the title of my most favourite song. It's written and sung by Justin Hayward (lead singer of my favourite music group, The Moody Blues). The song has always captured my interest and I love the melody. If you get the chance to read the lyrics then please do so or, better yet, listen to it if you can!
Talking of Justin Hayward, here are the lyrics to another of his songs that mean so much to me and seem to be written all about me and my life and how I was 'found'. I'm sure many of you can relate to the lyrics yourself. Another beautiful song.
I was lost
I was wandering in the dark
I was searching for the spark
That would light my life
I was lost
I didn't know where I was from
I was always on the run
Tryin' to find myself
I was out on my own
Then you brought me back home
I was lost
But now I'm found
I'm so glad that you're around
To shelter me
I was lost
I didn't know the words to say
I just couldn't find a way
To express myself
I was blind
I just couldn't read my mind
I didn't know what I would find
When I met myself
I was out on my own
Then you brought me back home
I was lost
But now I'm found
I thank God that you're around
To shelter me
I love the way you tell me
That you love me, yes I do
And I love the way you ask me
If I love you, yes I do
I was lost
There was so much I had to learn
I didn't know which way to turn
Till I turned to you
I was wrong
I should have seen it all along
I couldn't find where I belonged
'till I belonged to you
I was out on my own
Then you brought me back home
I was lost
But now I'm found
I thank God that you're around
To shelter me
