I consider myself to be more of a romanticist poet (which you could probably tell by my writing style). Hmm...let's see, I'm 'really big' into writing, as they say, whether it be poetry or stories. I don't tend to post up any of my stories though. I've been writing for quite some time, since I was a wee lass and have always found it to be a great passion of mine. I don't claim to write well, while I am proud of half of my work...the other half should never see the light of day haha. I was a member of my school's Literary Magazine club for four years, where we critiqued and analyzed poetry constantly. That with my natural interest in and knack for dissecting poetry I believe qualifies me for a meaningful opinion of a poetic piece. I've also taken several courses, and well have basically been doing this all my life (yes I know I'm just 19 haha). I'm not saying I'm high and mighty and that my opinion is always right, but that you should probably not ignore it because I'm just trying to help. I won't praise your poetry if it's not quite there yet, instead I'll help you get there.
Ah and to set the record straight, I'm not some depressive goth, nor am I a 'dark' person, nor do I "want to die." I'm perfectly happy with things despite some of my poetry which seems to contradict that. I can't seem to write 'happy' poetry because...it just...doesn't sound like Edgar Allen Poe to me..and that's the style I like haha. So yes, it's not because I'm some dark maniac who's obsessed with death or anything. Noooo nothing like that. I'm quite content. Also, I tend to write poetry from a 'friend's' perspective. Kind of like 'if i were in their shoes'. Therefore, some of my work which seems to be in the first person, is not actually about me.
Dislikes: Ironically enough, I'm not a fan of 'emo' poetry because most of it tends to lose any sort of poetic beauty whatsoever and ends up being just a long dark cliched teenage rant. Speaking of cliches...definitely do not like those ha. They're hard to stay away from though sometimes and I must admit, I'm guilty as charged sometimes. I'm also not really into irreligious poetry and philosophies. I completely understand philosophy and their arguments so it's not that I'm blindly taking religion's side, it's just that logically, and philosophically speaking, even then religion makes more sense...so I can't take anti-religious philosophical poetry seriously as well-written as it may be.
Likes: As mentioned before, big fan of Poe, Dickinson, Wordsworth, cummings, tons of them out there. I love poetry, period. What kind? Well as our motto went for the Literary Magazine: "We accept ALL wonderful poetry!" It's either great or not, what can I say?
Oh and, I don't believe in Love.

-LilacThOughts- : Ambushed! on November 1, 2007Hi there
Guess what? You’ve been ambushed! The group, ‘The Poetic Bandits’ do something called Hood-Wink, where we all come together with one chosen poet and comment on their poetry. You were the chosen poet. Hope you were encouraged by this and found it to be a blessing. Keep up the great writing and thank you for your contributions through poetry on this site.
All the best...
