I am currently wasting my twenties inside of a drab, uninspiring gray cubicle, bereft of stimulation, save for the five minutes a day I spend inhaling the same boring, yet relatively interesting, lunch.
I have a three year old son who splits his time between driving me mad and inspiring me to write poetry or become a better man.
I have a beautiful wife with a smile that can melt the tension in any room, and eyes that steal my heart every time I look into them.
I write mostly philosophical poetry and I am partial to sonnets. I wrote my first poem when I was 18, and it was a big success with my friends at camp, those for whom it was written. Since then I have written only a handful, but the creative juices are starting to flow.
I aspire to be a novelist, but I am too lazy to pull it off. I know I have the talent (at least, that is what everyone keeps telling me), and yet I only find myself inspired in small spurts. This is why poetry, and in particular sonnets, suit me well. If I cannot get an idea out in less than an hour, it typically falls apart or becomes abandoned.
I hope that my readers are driven to think or laugh with my poetry. I hope that each poem is unique. And I hope that you will think about each poem after you have read it, even if you have nothing to say.
