In my poetry I try to paint word pictures with the best words in the best order.
I was born in 1920 in St Helens in Lancashire England. I spent my years of primary, secondary and early tertiary education in Southport in Lancashire and was called up from there to serve in the British Army from 1939 to 1946.(1943-1946 in Italy)
From 1946 to 1949 studied Architecture at Sheffield University. Graduated 1949 with BA Honours in Architecture.
Lived and worked in Sheffield until migrated to Perth, Western Australia in 1957.
Retired as Senior Architect (Schools) from the Public Works Department of Western Australia in 1980, since when have spent most of my time writing, and painting (mixed media).
Have published two books in Italian - 'Andiamo in Italia' - an Italian grammar book for beginners, and 'Memorie dell'Italia' a poetry book in both English and Italian illustrated by the author.
I am currently working on my family history which I hope will be carried on by my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He that uses many words for explaining any subject, doth, like the cuttlefish,
hide himself for the most part in his own ink.

Norman Crabtree : I am alive. on October 8, 2007ive just come back from a really hectic part in my life with school and that, and just getting back into poetry.
it was just a couple of minutes ago i logged back and another user pointed out that so called 'tribute' page. I am just shocked, i dont know anyone on this site in the flesh and rarely 'correspond' with anyone outside of the site. The whole thing is fabricated and completly false even making up quotes. i'm gonna go round and apologise and notify anyone affected by this and then im gonna notify the site.
Michael, you blew me away with that poem in my contest, and words cannot convey what kind of mixed emotions of shock guilt and anger i am feeling. I am sorry for anything and everything these people put you thru.
