Hey everyone! Jambo Marafiki! What's up, habari yako, and how's it going? Thanks so much for dropping by. I welcome you to my page and hope that you will enjoy my poetry. I kinda go back and forth between fiction and truth, but usually my fictional stuff is based on something from somewhere else or the way that I am feeling. But hey, I always like to change it up a bit! I also don't write that often. A lot of the time my works have to have me be motivated or inspired or I must be in the mood to write. I guess that also has to do with the fact that I can be pretty lazy sometimes. Anyways, sit back, relax, and I hope you like my work!
"To me, poetry is the words you want to say but cannot speak, what you hold in your heart but cannot say, and what subconsciously you are thinking about but do not know it"
-this is what poetry means to me
...........................................................................
Some stuff that I love include sports, they are pretty much my life. I love all sports actually, but my favourites are field hockey, soccer, and ice hockey. I am a goalkeeper in both field hockey and soccer, and a defender in ice hockey. I also love to snowboard, ski, windsurf, kayak, karate, softball, curling, and fencing.
I am a Christian, and there are a fair number of my pieces that reflect that. I have had a troubled past though as well, and there are a fair number of my pieces that reflect that too. I believe that through my work, not only can I express myself, but I can help others as well. That is why I try to write what I feel and not always make it so complicated or sugar-coated so that others may understand what I am trying to get across. Other people have helped me with their poems, and I just want to give back too. But for the most part though, I just write and whatever comes out of my head is what I put down. I try to not revise or change poems because that takes away from what I originially wanted it to be.

"Have the courage to live. Anyone can die."
-Robert Cody-
100% of the shots you don't take you miss.
-Kory Delehanty and Wayne Gretzky-

-Gabriel Riqueti Mirabeau-
Never explain; your friends will understand you, and your enemies will never believe you anyway.
Somewhere behind the athlete you've become, the hours of practice, the coaches who push you, and the fans who cheer for you is the little girl who fell in love with the sport and never looked back. Play for her.
-Anonymous-
Good teams become great ones, when the members trust each other enough to surrender the me for the we.
-Phil Jackson-
One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.
-Maya Angelou-
We should not let our fears hold us back from pursuing our hopes.
-John F. Kennedy-
The only thing you should do behind a person's back is pat it.
One's greatness is not measured by how many times they admit it, but by how many times they deny it.
It is better to be hated for who you are, then to be loved for who you are not.
It is always better to fail at doing something than to excel at doing nothing.
-Anon. Per. K. Marshall-
Never ruin an apology with an excuse.
-B. Dahyalal-
Most of the shadows in this life are caused by standing in our own sunshine.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-
Things turn out best for the people that make the best out of the way that things turn out.

-Stalin-
Life is that brief interlude between nothingness and eternity.

-E. Letterman-
Poetry withers and dries out when it leaves music, or at least imagined music, too far behind it. Poets who are not interested in music are, or become, bad poets.
-Ezra Pound-
If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us.
-Herman Hesse-
To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-
Friends are angels that lift you from your feet when your wings forget how to fly.
Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death and judgement, for not even the very wise can see all ends.
-Gandalf- JRR Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring-
Destiny, chance, fate or fortune - they're all just ways of claiming your successes without claiming your failures.
With great power, comes great responsibility.

Gypsy Via Orleans on March 8I dropped by to thank you for reading my work and for your nice comments. I always like it when new people read my poetry. That gives me a chance to read others who I may otherwise miss. I will be back later to read. I got your last message. Believe me I understand your sarcasm but, I will be back.
