I started to write poetry when I was five. It started off with simple rhymes of beach scenes and slowly I started to write more and more. For a few years though I seemed to stop writing as much as I used to. Then I discovered the pleasure of song writing. I started writing songs when I was ten and this got me interested in writing poetry and stories again.
I've never spent long enough thinking about my writing to be able to describe it. I simply write what I feel and when I feel it. Rarely do my poems go under the editing knife because A) I usually lose them, I have a tendency to rip out everything and C)) I'm too busy writing something else!
My second love to poetry is music. I don't go one day without listening to music. I hardly go a couple of hours without listening to music. I have varied tastes, everything from opera to rock, dance to rap. My favourite band in, um the universe, would have to be Il Divo. I think their music is some of the most beautiful I have ever heard. I'm also mildly obsessed with French music, but I won't list all the artists I like now or otherwise I'll probably have square eyes by the end!
