I'm a student at the University of Virginia, studying to be a social studies teacher. Beyond that, who knows. Maybe a principal, maybe a superintendent, maybe a school board member, maybe a professor. The possibilities are endless

My style... I don't rhyme or use meter unless it happens organically in the writing process. I feel that they're restrictive and don't allow the writer to express his/her thoughts honestly. I generally write in free verse, because it allows for that. Most of my poems come out of personal experience.

About Me:

-Sports, music, and politics are my three biggest hobbies/interests.

-I'm an only child, which is awesome to me in many ways. I feel like I'm closer to my parents because of it (I'm one of the few people I know who can talk to his parents about pretty much anything). I also like not having to share stuff. I know, selfish...

-I was born in Texas, but we left for Virginia when I was two. Since then I’ve lived in Richmond, Norfolk, Gloucester/Williamsburg, and now Spotsylvania.

-I'm kind of a loner and don't always need to be surrounded by others every minute of the day. This can lead people to believe I'm distant and antisocial. Not true. I like hanging out with friends, but I also like having time to myself.

-I'm a pretty passionate person. If I get my heart in something, I tend to throw myself in all the way. This is quite honestly both a blessing and a curse.

-When I’m angry with someone, I tend not to confront them, but rather fake being nice to them. It’s good for avoiding confrontation, but it often results in me bottling up my anger inside me, which is never good. There are a few people in my past that I wish I could just walk up to and air out all my frustrations with them, but that’s never been in my personality.

-I do have quite a romantic side, just that no one's given me the chance to show it in a long time. I do hope it comes out in some of my poetry.

-I'm pretty smart, and have had many opportunities in life. Yet I constantly second-guess myself and probably have too low self-esteem.

-Barring some crazy realignment, I will be a Democrat for life. That said, I don't agree with the Democrats on every issue. That would be crazy.

-I was raised Catholic, attended Catholic school for most of my life, and used to go to church every Sunday. Now, I don't consider myself Catholic, only step foot in a church once a year, and attend a public school.

-The older I get, the more skeptical of religion I get. Most of the issues that religion attempts to explain are the kinds of things that I just don't care about knowing the answers to. Why are people so afraid of a little doubt?

-I defy anyone to find a sweeter and cuter dog than Penny, my toy poodle.

-I used to fence epee. That was before I discovered how cool sabre is. The University of Virginia Fencing Club is one of the coolest groups of people on Earth.

-Creed is my favorite band of all time. Their combination of raw, honest lyrics and pulse-pounding rock will never be equaled.

-Alter Bridge, A Perfect Circle, The Corrs, bond, Tool, Faith Hill, and Shania Twain are some of my favorite singers/bands. Along with pretty much any band Chris Cornell has ever been in.
