Sandal is both the most humble of footwear and the most fragrant of trees. There is power in the naming of things - I remind myself daily of these ideals.
I believe that peace is in what we do, each moment. Peace is not served by words; but by time and patience. We must hold on to life and love while we can, then let them go with a restful sigh.
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. - His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Love is swift, sincere, pious, joyful, generous, strong, patient, faithful, prudent, long-suffering, courageous, and never seeking her own; for wheresoever we seek our own, there we fall from love. – Thomas a Kempis
The best, like water,
Benefit all and do not compete.
They dwell in lowly spots that everyone else scorns.
Putting others before themselves,
They find themselves in the foremost place
And come very near to the Tao.
– Lao Tzu

In the Frank Capra film from the 40s, LOST HORIZON, the Dalai Lama character says the Shangri La motto is "Be Kind," which to me summarizes the wonderful actual quote you present.
I admire and love your philosophy (expressed here on your Author Page.)
