SandalShow poetry

Sandal is both the most humble of footwear and the most fragrant of trees. There is power in the naming of things - I remind myself daily of these ideals.

I believe that peace is in what we do, each moment. Peace is not served by words; but by time and patience. We must hold on to life and love while we can, then let them go with a restful sigh.

The best, like water,
Benefit all and do not compete.
They dwell in lowly spots that everyone else scorns.
Putting others before themselves,
They find themselves in the foremost place
And come very near to the Tao.
– Lao Tzu

Conquer the angry man by love.
Conquer the ill-natured man by goodness.
Conquer the miser with generosity.
Conquer the liar with truth.
Buddha (in the Dhammapada)

  • kareneisenlord : Peaceful Page... on September 30
    Visiting your page gave me such a sense of serenity. I love the background of the soft trees. These words are lovely and so true;

"I believe that peace is in what we do, each moment. Peace is not served by words; but by time and patience. We must hold on to life and love while we can, then let them go with a restful sigh."

    *sigh*

I see you have done very well in the short time since you arrived. Enjoy!!

Welcome to Allpoetry! I hope you enjoy it here, learning from others as they learn from you. There's lots of opportunities to expand here, to write new forms and explore unchartered territory.

    Blessings,
