I's Automatic
Words forge within my soul,
it's automatic, can't be stopped.
They rest in the crevices of my being,
an entity of their own.
Poetry sprouts from these words,
pullulating freely, blooms burst.
Held back as by a levee,
until the heaviness of the dam breaks.
Writing is like breathing,
my heart beats in every word.
Asphyxia would be my doom,
if I had to keep them in.
I write in celebration,
it's how I grieve and mourn death.
My love flows, disappointment escapes,
through these words I am fed.
Secrets are hid within imagery,
at the same time I'm set free.
I am prostrate before the Lord,
offering Him worship and praise.
It is who I am,
a gift God blessed me with.
I am whole,
even when I am broken.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

A Beautiful Treasure
The beautiful exotic hibiscus flower
brings much pleasure into my life
It's beauty is incomparable
as is the music from the rife.

Although sturdy in may ways
her care is of vital importance
She needs the right amount of water every day
but too much will ruin her appearance.
Feed her a healthy dose of nitrogen
to keep a healthy bloom
it's like adding extra oxygen
resulting in lovely plumes.
Plant her in a prestigious place
for her beauty would be a shame to hide.
Give her ample space
to stretch her branches wide.
Her petals are like words she has to offer
Incorporated throughout her poetry
looking at life in colors much softer
and mixed with inspired chemistry.
When she is given the right care
she'll thrive and proudly flourish.
All that encounter her can't help but stare
and by her elegance feel nourished.
Pam is a gift to all of us
who have had the special blessing
of coming across her poetic address.
Her talent we're all enjoying!
