*O Lord Ganesha with a large body and curved trunk, with the brilliance of a million suns, please make all my work free of obstacles always.

-Ganpati Mantra

Hi! Namaste, Satsriakal, Ahlane, Comment allez-vous?

Welcome to my Page and Happy World Poetry Day(21st March) :-)

I was born on a Wednesday, which is the day sacred to Odin. Odin is a Norse God and the master of runic magick. My birth totem is the Falcon, it is a bird that stands for Awakening time. Look on the web for info on birth totems if you want to know more..not all are the same because some come from a different belief than Shamanism but look under birds as birth totems and also look for Ted Andrews Animal Speak Books!

SOMETHING WHICH I REALLY REALLY WANT but am unable to get in India:http://www.hayhouse.com/details.php?id=3127

Some of my most favourite sites other than AllPoetry.com are:

www.globalpsychics.com

www. psychicguild.com - Has abundant info. on Tarot, Chinese Astrology, Numerology and the like!

www.bewhoyouare.com

www.newworlddream.org

www.findagoddess.com - You can find Goddesses here from various cultures! Amazing site with pictures too!!

Here's a wonderful link to poetic devices:allpoetry.com/poem/2156248

and here is a lovely site besides Shadow Poetry.com that lists some forms of poetry:http://www.thepoetsgarret.com/decastich.html

I worked as a Moderator on AP from May 3rd'05 - July 13th'05.

A little important bit of info. that might help those writing haiku:

Kanji are the chinese-like characters in japanese. Kana are the ones that represent syllables, allowing literal translation. Sumi-e is the type of art that's steriotypically oriental-you know, the bamboo shoots and stuff with the wide brush strokes hanging on scrolls
Feeling alone or detached from life, the Heavens or the Universe itself, then get out into the wilds and try hugging a tree! Trees have always been seen as a conduit between creatures on the ground and ‘out there’. The Maoris of New Zealand believe that ‘Tane’, the great tree spirit born of/and separating the sky from the earth, gave birth to human kind itself.

So to tap into the heart of these sacred living beings and their unique powers of healing, take your pick from a selection of tree angel oracles below:

The Tree Angel Oracle

Birch - purity, grace, regenerative power of nature
Ash - mastery of abilities, success, live our full potential
Walnut - nourishment, spiritual wisdom
Elder - fertility and growth, abundance, contentment
Holly - impulse to wake up! Clarity and personal integrity
Hawthorn - unity, protection, purification
Oak - vitality, energy, power, integrity
Aspen - spiritual warrior, humour, awareness
Hazel - carefree spontaneity, playfulness
Linden - equilibrium, harmony, humanitarian, justice
Blackthorn - shadow world, secrets, protection
Yew - wisdom, eternity, transformation
Larch - grace and beauty, spiritual clarity, inspiration
Willow - moon magic, dreams, healing
Scots Pine - pioneering spirit, clarity to walk your path
Apple - health, self-worth, confidence
Spruce -cosmic communication, connection to higher realms
Beech - responsibility and honour, concentration, focus
Cedar of Lebanon - nobility, majesty, domain, wisdom
Horse Chestnut - patience, optimism, confidence, abundance
Sycamore - far-sightedness, ideas, plan, spiritual freedom
Alder - acceptance, release, letting go of past grief, purification
Pear - sweetness, indulgence, harmony, sensuality, pleasure
Pipal - tree of life, spiritual inspiration, enlightenment
Cherry - self forgiveness and self care, unconditional love

May the 4L'S always be yours: Love, Life, Luck and Light!

The Hausa people of Nigeria have a saying, "Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot." And that is just how the Universe works. When you focus on and express your thanks for what you do have, and the joy and love already in your life, the more abundance, joy, and love you will create in your life.

And, as Native American wisdom teaches us, don't forget to "give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way."

The poet Emily Dickinson has said, "Forever is composed of nows." And what you do with your "nows" determines your future.

An apology is the superglue of life. It can repair just about anything.

"Watch your thoughts; they become words.

Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.

Here's a poetic reminder from Rudyard Kipling:

I have six honest serving men

They taught me all I knew.

I call them Why and When and Where

Kahlil Gibran wrote: "Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding/Even as the stone of the fruit mask must break, that/its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain/And could you keep your heart in wonder at/the daily miracles of your life, your pain would/not seem less wondrous than your joy/And you would accept the seasons of your heart,/even as you have always accepted the seasons that/pass over your fields/And you would watch with serenity through/the winters of your grief..."

Gibran equates the endurance of pain to healing of that very pain:"It is the bitter potion by which the physician/within you heals your sick self./Therefore trust the physician and drink his/remedy in silence and tranquility/For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen..."

Here on AP, my friend Ogreatbaldone{Terry} has posted this beautiful haiku for me:

For Charishma(Haiku-of course)

Your beautiful words

paint my brain with memories

of moments in life

His author's comments under this are: "Author's Questions/Comments

This is For Charishma, one of my favorites, who has been on a Haiku "binge" the last few days. Check out her latest ku's. there are some really good ones."

He has also written a haiku for me after reading several of mine in which the moon{which I affectionately call 'the evening pearl'} has been the subject. You can read his haiku here: allpoetry.com/Poem/1042306*

*This is what it says:

Goddess of the moon

your spirit reaches to me

a beacon at night

I love learning things about auras and chakras. My Mom on AP, SpiritMother, told me this about my aura:

"Your auras are made up of several layers, the etheric aura being the spiritual which is blue. There are actually seven visible layers of aura for each person. Yellow being the complete outer one of protection. Your main aura color when I met you, and still is a pale lavender color beneath the yellow. When you become stressed or upset then spots appear within that color giving evidence of where the problem lies. Stress is usually a gray cloud look over the head area. Pain is shown as a red ball in the area affected. Heavy thoughts or burdens on our souls are usually shown around the shoulders and neck areas..They can be just about any color depending upon the severity and what the burden may pertain to. You see now what I mean? It takes years to learn all this but practice makes perfect right? LOL"

Mariza GG is another wonderful friend I've made on AP. She is so talented; sometimes I just wish I lived closer to her and we could compose poetry together! She wrote this for me today {January 26th '05}.

Busy Bee ( to Charishma)

in her hand

the pen screams

no more!

Her author's comments under this are: I met Charishma not so long ago, but her passion for haiku caught my attention. She is a lovely girl with an immense creativity. She sees, she makes notes and she passes us the images kept in her mind in such a pleasant way, through haiku

I can barely follow her pace. With a pen in her hand, she is faster than Speedy Gonzales

"go pen go!" I read that on her page"

You can see this directly at this link:

*She is a wonderful person and I urge you to see her poetry.

My friend GardenBelle dedicated this sonnet to me:

and this lovely poem on peonies: http://allpoetry.com/poem/2747976

My elder spiritual sister on AP: allpoetry.com/poet/mariananda

Mari wrote this for me:http://allpoetry.com/poem/2702608

and this too:http://allpoetry.com/poem/show/2789360

She is my sweet Mari! Her devotion and love for Mata Amritanandamayi touches my heart. Thanks to her, I have a beautiful white cloth which is from the sari(Indian dress) of Mata Amritanandamayi and beautiful rose incense that lights my home and soul with so much peace and infinite joy. She has gifted me a beautiful painting of Goddess Tara who is a favourite of mine and is now blessing my home from the Puja room. I cannot thank Mari enough for everything. She is definitely someone very special and I wish that she receives abundant blessings from the Goddess and God.

Shewolfnative wrote a lovely poem for me here on the 12th of Feb'07:http://allpoetry.com/poem/2624404

A Collection of Immortal Love Poems:

You left me by Emily Dickinson

You left me, sweet, two legacies -

A legacy of love

A Heavenly Father would content,

Had He the offer of;

You left me boundaries of pain

Capacious as the sea,

Between eternity and time,

Your consciousness and me.

When you are old by William Butler Yeats

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,

And nodding by the fire, take down this book,

And slowly read, and dream of the soft look

Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,

And loved your beauty with love false or true,

But one man loved the Pilgrim soul in you,

And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,

Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled

And paced upon the mountains overhead

And hid his face amidst a crowd of stars.
