I tend to write poetry in rhyming verse, usually four lines per verse, but am presently experimenting with different forms. I also try to write poetry on many different subjects and try to be as versatile as possible. My greatest love, is nature in all her diversity and splendor that holds me captured in utter awe. However, and sadly, life isn't always full of beautiful imagary and there is also that dark side to life, so I try to balance my poetry and look at life from all sides, with depth, compassion and understanding.
My philosopy is to live in the present. The past no matter how sad or dispairing, is just that, in the past. The future is something I cannot control, so I do not waste precious energy concerning myself with what might or might not be.
I do not believe in organised religion, but am deeply spiritaul and firmly believe in reincarnation. I also believe that we are all in charge of our own destinies.
My other belief is that one has to love and cherish one's self, before you can expect anybody else to love and cherish you. True love to me means retaining your own uniqueness and individuality and never compromisisng you eithincs, morals or dignity to please somebody else. Nobody else can ever make you happy, whole or complete. This is something that comes from within yourself.

With dew drops on their velvet petals
Among the thistles and the nettles -
Where hearts are drawn into the shifting dunes
And fates are tried with fall of crystal runes.

May this your day be blessed with peace
For your gracious spirit will never cease

Benjamin D. Warden on November 7, 2006The pleasure of awarding is all mine. I am just thankful that you took the time writing this piece, so that I may present you with a worthy trophy.
Thank you very much, this poem did spur a little bit of an aspect I was drifting from.
Sometimes life is right there, and many do not realize what they know.
Thats the beauty of the mind though, it can recover information and emotions to express the wonders in life.
Thank you very much,
