Hi there!
I am a triathlete who loves being outdoors. For those of you who don't know, triathlon is a combined sport of swimming, cycling and running. My hope is to write more poetry based on the experiences of being athletic and of the outdoors. I have one poem so far about my favorite triathlon that I have done about 5 or 6 times. There is also a haiku style poem about my favorite running trail.
I really enjoy poems that express and evoke a deep emotional response. In opinion, it takes a certain level of being present to bring a deep level of meaning forward from inside to present it on the page. Anyone that can do that deserves commendation.
Most of the poetry that I have posted here was written about 10-15 years ago when I was a teenager / young adult. Some of it was a way for me to express myself after suffering from an abusive childhood. If you are also a survivor, please know that some of the poetry can be triggering.
You will find some love poems and other goodies within my poetry. Please take a look and tell me what you think.
Smiles!

How did I just notice, more than a decade later
the dramatic theater of what had happened?25 lines, 1 comment, February 19 -

sending admiration adrift with the chill of dispute. -

I find beauty
infinite and unfathomable

I am profoundly moved by your poetry. I am an abuse survivor also. I know your sister-in-law, HeavensDaughter. I would like to invite you to join our group for people with disabilities. Anyone can join; even people who are not disabled. It is a consciousness-raising group and a support group. HeavensDaughter is a member of our group.
