I'm 14, and I thought I'd put up some of the stuff I've been writing. currently, I have the most WONDERFUL and gorgeous girlfriend, so I spend most of my free time makin' out with her... 
We've been dating for three months! ^_^ .I totally shred on the electric guitar, and can make chain-mail armor. I look and act emo, but I don't cut myself or anything like that. I just like the look. ^_^ X_X o_0 "/ 
Oh yeah - if you haven't already seen on bigmammajen's page, (shes my mom) I'm a guitar player. The only difference between that picture and now is that I didn't have a punk mohawk in that picture like i do currently.
I dyed it turqouise.

To answer your question....you will have to actually read other peoples poems and leave nice, well thought out comments for them. No making fun of them, no leaving "that was cool" - people write poetry so that they can get some kind of feedback - most want to make their poems better and ask for suggestions, some just like to put it up and get comments from people. Even if you think it sucks and makes no sense to you - try to find at least something good to say in a comment for them and youll find that those people will in turn generally come by and read your stuff and leave you comments too.
Be also warned - there are people that take poetry very seriously and will leave you mean comments - dont get in arguments with them, just ignore it. Some of them think that going to other peoples poems and leaving "Dude...this is stupid...it sucks major monkey balls" is a fun way to pass the time.

PS - be careful - sometimes when people tell you they are 13 year old girls that love reading your poetry and they think you are hot - it might really be a balding 40 year old man. EEEEEEEEEWE
