I knew a girl,
who had dandelion nosebleeds,
and wiped her tears with the brims of old men's hats.
Who, with brass lungs sang showers dry,
and chased her visions like criminals.

I knew a girl,
who didn't think her smile lines fault lines,
and when touched,
coiled her heat to the pore of impression.
Who drank to death with smiling urge,
and inked love letters in shades of Clinique.

I knew a girl,
who gargled with ocean water,
and shaved her legs with nouns and verbs
in a tub of alliterations.
Who could bend beams of sun around her waist,
and call it, "just a belt".

I knew a girl,
who breathed without air,
and straddled time with homemade hips,
to tame my eager steps.

I knew a girl,
Who tip-toed midnight phone calls across galaxies,
just to tuck me in.

I knew a girl,
who swallowed fairy tales.

I write mostly from the truth of my life,
it's all is out of my past, and my heart.
Never before have I written poetry,
it started to flow out along with the tears,
when my my wife Cindy passed on 1-15-02.
I think it's all the love she gave, turning into words now, she loved poetry.
I just wanted to write about the special love she showed to all of us,
all of us who were a part of her life.
Perhaps it's her gift, who can say for certain?

I've made a special place in my heart called Cindy,
there I have put all the wonderful memories of the beautiful
life and love we shared.
Forward, but now and then I will need to write about her.
Thank you all for those touching comments, they will be with me always.
Best wishes my friends,

Your friend,
Rob

Thank you Travis, I just returned from the Jersey shore
after a long weekend, we enjoyed the live 8 concert in Philly,
then spent the fourth on the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City,
N.J....weather was perfect and the fireworks were great.
I'm happy tired, hungover, and 5 pounds heavier, and I am going to bed now.
Hope you're feeling okay and had a terrific day too.
    Best Regards,
    Rob
