Tears of Oblivion(An Ode to the Abused)
"You know me not
I'm long forgot
By the people of this world
If you saw me on the street
I'm just another girl
But look a little deeper
Into my pain-streaked eyes
Realize my every smile
Is just another lie
My life holds no purpose
Soul empty inside
Father uses me daily
Then beats me if I cry
Sometimes I really wonder
If death would set me free
But what would become of my son
If I would cease to be..
My dear sweet Xavier
Hear my lulliby
Still too young and innocent
To see why Mommy cries.."
It seems like so long ago
That I started this piece
Too late for me to follow through
Young Liza is deceased
Xavier in a Foster home
His chance of life increased
Leaving her,scarred and alone,to perish on the streets
I write this in her memory
A life she didn't choose
A sad and sickening summary
Of use, rape and abuse.
