A long time, tired traveler who has finally figured out that the surest knowledge he has is that he knows nothing as he ought to know it and that it's best to take a seat and allow the drama to unfold of its own accord.
Observation and experience persuade him that he is better off allowing reality to interpret itself, which it always does. The question is will he be on the right wavelength to understand it. Sometimes, sometimes not. For me Christ encompasses all wavelengths, yet favorites include Shakespeare's fools, the original Looney Tunes, the \Tao\...and...one never knows. Joyful mystery is behind all things. If I chose a song that typifies the creativity I feel within it would be the electric version of \Hear My Train A Commin'\ by Jimi Hendrix.
The poet enters into himself in order to create. The contemplative enters into God in order to be created. - \Thomas Merton\
Let each one understand the meaning of sincerity and guard against display. He will be at peace with men and spirits, and will act rightly, unseen, in his own solitude, in the tower of his spirit. - \Chuang Tzu\
There is no greatness which is not grounded deep in self-conquest and self-denial...The man to come will have to rediscover that liberating power lies in self-control; that inwardly accepted suffering transforms the sufferer. - \Romano Guardini\
Proverbs 16:32: He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city.
For only the very young saw life ahead, and only the very old saw life behind; the others between were so busy with life they saw nothing. - From the story Perhaps We Are Going Away by \Ray Bradbury\
You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. - \Mark Twain\
The future does not stay open automatically; it has to be reopened by your own inward death and renewal. Not steady movement in one direction but continual redirection, breaking through old ruts, is the formula for progress. - \Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy\
A couple of years ago all I wanted was to be heard. 'Let me in' was the thing. Now I’m trying to figure out the wisest way to be heard. – \Jimi Hendrix\
Men can starve from a lack of self-realization as much as they can from a lack of bread. - \Richard Wright\
Just being is disconcerting to those who must always be doing. - \Os Guiness\
Razors pain you; rivers are damp; acids stain you; and drugs cause cramp. Guns aren't lawful; nooses give; gas smells awful; you might as well live. - \Dorothy Parker\

It was back in the early seventies. I had been one of the last hold outs in the group I ran with to finally smoke pot. Yet that’s the most I would do. That is until a friend fi886 lines, 8 comments, August 17, 2004. In <200 lines, Other

This is a true story. It breaks in where I recently (back in 1978) moved to North Carolina from Ohio. I had just bought my first car and was staying with my sister in New Bern.1111 lines, 4 comments, August 11, 2004. In <200 lines, Romance

LdyBrknWing on November 3Hey Rambler! Just dropped by to give you the link to a group you might be interested in joining. It's called "Poets from North Carolina." Here's the link. http://allpoetry.com/group/info/Poets%20from%20North%20Carolina?stay=1 I know you're a busy guy, so if you don't have time to mess with it, that's cool. Just wanted to give you the opportunity, and a personal "invite." Hope you and yours are well. Later!

Rambler on October 22, 2006I did the same. And some people put me through hell for it. But if it hadn't been for books I'm afraid to think of what I would have occupied my mind with in those days.

I just dropped by to say "hello". I haven't seen you around in awhile. Saw you online just now and wanted to say hello quickly before you disappear into the shadows again
