I write the way I feel, I love writing, and lose myself for hours writing and reading. My poems are probably as diverse as I am, I'm single but happy about it, disabled but try not to let it hold me back, Christian but gay, (yeah I know that it says it's wrong in the bible, however I feel that what people think of as my sins are between me and the Lord and no-one else.

*The Oyster*
There once was an oyster
Whose story I tell,
Who found that some sand
Had got into his shell.
It was only a grain,
But it gave him great pain
For oysters have feelings
although they're so plain.

Now did he berate
The harsh workings of fate
That had brought him to such a deplorable state?
Did he curse at the government,
Cry for election
And claim that the sea should
Have given him protection?

No he said to himself
As he lay on a shell,
Since I cannot remove it,
I shall try to improve it.
Now the years rolled around,
As the years always do,
And he came to his ultimate
Destiny - stew.
And the small grain of sand
That had bothered him so
Was a beautiful pearl all richly aglow.
Now the tale has a moral;
For isn't it grand
What an oyster can do
With a morsel of sand?

What couldn't we do
If we'd only begin
With some of the things
That get under our skin.

I love music, an eclectic mix of just about everything, except hardcore house type stuff! And have loads of songs that I love. My motto's are, People are like snowflakes.....each one is beautiful and unique, and I am therefore I can.
My passion at the moment is the group that I run for women who self harm, and I train proffesionals to work with people who self harm, I am studying to be a counsellor, and am loving that. I suffered with depression for a long time, but found my way out of the pit of despair 6 years ago. I also used to self-harm but have not done for 5 years now (yea). I am permanently disabled following an attempted suicide 7 years ago, I almost didn't make it, but am so thankull that I did. Well thats all you're getting, critiscism, feedback, praise, and honest comments on my stuff is very welcome, and I will try to reply to all messages left. Lotsa luv xx. ps, a couple of sites I have found where you can download images free of charge are, www.windywebdesign.com and www,wizardofdraws.com. Hi there PF, thanks for your lovely comment, it is rare to find a fellow Christian who is so accepting, yet Jesus taught that we should love and Accept all. I am glad your friend has had at least one person in her life who loves her unconditionally, accepting her choices to love a same sex partner and to follow a different religion. sorry to hear you have to put up with so much discrimination, we unfortunately live in a time where people are quick to judge and stereotype. I am sure that virtually all of these people have been on the recieving end of prejudice, and therefor should know how hurtful it can be. Hang on to your Faith, keep being you, and definitely keep writing! I hope that many blessings come into your life, and that you enjoy life to the full. Very best wishes Kay
