Hey,
My names Martin or Rafty to some of my friends.
My poetry can vary from love, to thoughts to generally very very dark self harm pieces. I dont self harm but as most poets know, when you write from a stricken heart all manner of things go down.
The brain gives you the ability to type,
Your heart the words.
My poetry on this site, viewed from start to finish and put a bar chart would show you when Iv'e been happy these past four years, when I've gone through a living hell where quite literally I've been so unhappy to where things are good and I write for leisure.
My writing very VERY rarely gets edited. Perhaps a grammer tweek or a spelling correction sure. But a poem is written how I feel at the time. Editing it after just moves away from the original feeling.
My love poems are generally about a girl called Elena who I was with for nearly three years.
The war poems and conflict are when I was in the Army Reserve and Afghan was a possibility but hey it never came to that.
Other lil randoms are me just gen thinking et al.
The dark horrific poems are from the breaks ups myself and Elena had or through times when I felt utterly shit.
But I havnt slashed my wrists. Well not on purpose lol! (accident as a kinder
)

Love and Anarchy on April 29, 2006hehe well she ended it, and i wasnt sure if you wanted me to do that, but i can finish the poem and send it to you if you like? I wasnt sure how comfortahble youd be if i entered the contest without knowing me. and my family is a bunch of sailors, heh. from the US Navy. My brother is just starting out, and my dad just retired as a vetrin of 2 wars and 20 years of service. I am proud of him. I am not much for government nor authority, but i have a respect for any servicemen, which is why i wanted to write and meet you

Do you know how that feels, when someone else dumps all their crap on you before they leave, I wasn't even there to defend myself.
