I'm a single 47yo woman living in South Africa. I've got a 25yo daughter, a replica of myself given as a reminder of God's grace.
My native tongue is Afrikaans (similar to Dutch), with English as my second language.
My biggest dream is to pin my past and present into poems as a pastime when I finally retire. Luckily I still have some time to practice and gain experience
Music is my greatest passion apart from poetry writing. I enjoy anything from Hard Rock to Classical. My favourite "shouter": Kelly Clarkson!

Just wanted to post and say 'hi'! -
poetryality on October 11, 2008I love to read the Afrikaans tongue on this page. I am typing this comment in your native accent. LOL Nicolette helped me with some words a couple of years ago, when I played a South African in an Ethol Fugard play.
Thank you for the compliment on my author page. I would love to see some South African poet's work on your page, written in your tongue, and translated for us. Some SA Arts. My brother attended the University of South Africa, and was given an Honorary Degree. He met Nelson Mandela. I met his daughter Zinzi, ( I think that was her name)in Michigan when Nelson was still in prison.
I could go on but I won't ramble up your page. LOL
Have a blessed weekend!
Always ♥
