"" And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
         On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming
    And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
                      Shall be lifted-nevermore!""

                               "The Raven"
                           by: Edgar Allan Poe

My daughter's favoritge new song:

The Devil Went Down To Georgia

The Devil went down to Georgia
He was looking for a soul to steal
He was in a bind, he was way behind
He was willing to make a deal.
When he came across this young man
Sawing on a fiddle and playing it hot
The Devil jumped up on a hickery stump
And said, "Boy let me tell you what!
I guess you didn't know it
But I'm a fiddle player, too
And if you care to take a dare
I'll make a bet with you
Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy
But give the Devil his due
I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul
To say I'm better then you."
The boy said "My name's Johnny
And it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet
You're goin to regret
'Cuz I'm the best there ever been."
Johnny roussin up your bow
And play your fiddle hard
'Cuz Hell's broke loose in Georgia
And the Devil deals the cards
And if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of gold
But if you lose the Devil gets your soul.
The Devil openned up his case
And he said "I'll start this show."
And fire flew from his fingertips
As he roussin up his bow
He pulled the bow across the strings
And it made an evil hiss
And a band of demons joined in
And it sounded something like this.
When the Devil was finished
Johnny said "Well, you know you were pretty good, ole son,
But sit right back in that chair right there
And let me show you how it's done."
He played, "Fire on the mountain, run, boys, run
The Devil's in the house of the rising sun
Chicken in the bread pan pickin' out dough
Granny does your dog bite, no, child, no."
The Devil bowed his head
"Cuz he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden fiddle down
On the ground at Johnny's feet
Johnny said "Devil, just come on back
If you ever want to try again
I told you once, you son of a bitch
I'm the best there ever been."
He played "Fire on the mountain, run, boy, run
The Devil's in the house of the rising sun
Chicken in the bread pan pickin' out dough
Granny does your dog bite, no, child, no."

Ok, ok, I got my kid listening to country. But, hey, she is just like me, she likes all types of music; rap, rock, country, oldies, pop, you name it, she likes it. I just thought it was funny that she likes this song so much....I fell in love with it when I was her age.

I write what I feel, what I have experienced, and what I know. I don't try to offend anyone but some of my poems I know are out there.  I would love to hear what other people have to think about my poems because I think they are horrible.  I have four kids, and I only have my youngest with me at this time. I put one up for adoption (which was an open adoption, and I picked out the family) and I hope to have my oldest two with me by the spring. I am 28 years old and I have been through more hell then most people can imagine. I hope you like what you read, but if not, please tell me what I need to work on so I can get better at it.

I just got my youngest sister involved on this site.  And even though we only met in December for the first time in our lives, we have a lot in common when it comes to the way we write.  I have a this love for poetry, always had and always will, and I love to read everyone elses poems and find out that I am not the only one who feels the same feelings I feel inside.  It is great to see that I am not alone in this world who feels lost, alone, angry, hurt, sad and broken.  I know that poetry comes from the heart and soul and there are no such thing as a bad poem.  To me, poetry is a form of artistic ideas that we, the writer, has the freedom to share their personal thoughts, dreams, hopes and life and the rest of society can only have their own opinion on the subject, but can, also, choose to read it and take it to heart or read it and not like it at all.  But no one can say that it is a mistake except for the writer, him or herself.

I now have my best friend involved in this site, also. She is my best girl-friend and I just moved away from where we lived together. We still talk on the phone and online, but it's not the same as if I was there with her.
She thinks her poems suck and I think my poems suck. I think her poems are great and she thinks mine are great (well, you get the picture). I hope you check out her work, too (xanny421) and my sister's work (WildCatOfDeath21).

I know I ramble on and I am sorry.  I just want people to know that I will never judge nor have I ever judge someone's poetry as being horrible, I believe all poetry is beautiful in their own way and I always encourage people to keep writing and keep sharing.  If you, actually, read all this, thank you so much for putting up with me.

thanks for the comment.. I get what you mean by that.. I guess at first I didn't see it that way.. I use to do that, but I stopped. I don't get mad easy I don't think.. But if I do get mad I just tend to end up punching something instead of the person.. I still do the other thing though but I don't cut. Well haven't started that up again yet. Sorry if I hurted you in any way when I wrote that. I was just like confused about it even though I use to do it, but I guess I just still don't get it.. Better I'm starting to get it more. Thanks ^-^ and I love your poems They are really good
