I never know what to put into these things... sometimes I wonder if people even read them.
I'm a pretty average, easy-going person. I'm happy to make friends with people and I'm hardly ever angry about criticism.
I have an AP sister... the beautiful Flowerpot... and an amazing AP brother, Yechidah. I also have the amazingly sweet and loving Aunt Silversoliloquysong; unfortunately I seem to be the only one of my family left here. If you would take the time to look at their poetry it would mean a great deal to me... but, there are no obligations.
A big hug goes out to the amazingly talented Sailor Ptolema ( http://allpoetry.com/Sailor%20Ptolema ) who is my very-nearly-the-same-age niece!
If anyone else would like to be related to me - or just good AP friends, I would love to hear from you.
I love reading all different styles and levels of poetry and if anyone would like me to read and comment on something they have written - just IM me and I promise that I will review as soon as I possibly can!
I really don't like the fact that people are all too willing to write 'that was good' as a reply to poetry without expanding on why... so that's why I got interested in reading other peoples poetry and I try to make sure that I talk about anything in the poem that I think could be changed and I always balance out with the things that I like.
I also really don't like people who complain about people not commenting on their poetry, when they don't comment on others. Granted, that just because you comment on my poetry doesn't mean I will always comment on yours... but most of the time I do. When you submit a poem it says (or said - I don't think it still does - but I fully endorse this anyway) that you should comment on at least four poems for every one you submit. So get commenting people!
I'm back to not writing a great deal... the time and the inclination just never seem to match up anymore. But I hope you like what you read regardless.
Well... there really isn't anything else to say... so I'll let you get back to reading poetry!

This is a poem written for me for Valentines Day by Joel (my partner):
Skin of gold, and eyes of brown,
A refreshing smile, that can raise a frown,
An ego so large, as for all of the masses,
The occasional curse, for her forgotten classes.
Her feet with no shoes, all covered in dirt,
The childlike love, of a swooshy new skirt,
A coy little smile - the cheeky at play,
With a furious wave as she goes her own way.
The haiku it does go five, seven then five,
Don't mess it up, or she'll eat you alive,
A spontaneous creature, so stay on your toes,
What move she'll make next, not even she knows.
A shining young lady, you'll be wishing would stay,
And a poem for her, on this Valentine's Day.

"heuristic and the rubix cube"

you contain a cloud vessel
and lighten its weight
with the shimmer
of thought.
i have a screen
and ten seconds to outcolor
the neon bulbs
before the surgeon comes in
to tell the world
it’s too late
to operate on an abstract concept.
but we don’t need a glass slipper
when you candle possibility
beneath gas lamps, chandeliers,
and sunlight.
you can do it the right way.
in the plural and with a solid margin
for error.
until eureka fits the feet.

-LilacThOughts- : Ambushed!Ambushed!Ambushed! on September 11Hi
Guess what? You’ve been ambushed! All your friends here at ‘The Poetic Bandits’ have got together to Hood-Wink you and comment on your poetry. Hope you are encouraged by this and find it a blessing. Keep up the great writing and thank you for your contributions through poetry and your friendship to many in our group and on this site

Rebekah-Ann on September 9You wonder if anyone ever read these things you say? Well I kinda like to find out more about people before reading their poetry. I am on my way to "discover" which thoughts made it all the way to paper and at least I know that I can look a bit deeper into the "poem-pool" when I read your work after I read your home page...

See, these pages are pretty neat
Please to meet you!
Take care

RMMcPherson on August 29So...I've been reading your poems...and you're really good. I know, I know. I'm a bad friend and should have read them sooner, but I don't spend much time on AP. But yeah...we should collaborate on a song or something.
I'd comment on the actual poems, but I think I'll save that for when I'm not almost asleep. That way, I'll sound more coherent and I can read and analyze them better.
