Check out Tattoo number 7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
done with first year of grad school - unfortunately due to massive stressors, I had to withdraw from my classes - so really, I'm only done with 1 semester. Working but the job is just okay. Hopefully I'll be able to find something else at the same college, because the college is GREAT! It's just this job that isn't.
GREAT NEWS!!! I WAS ACCEPTED TO GRAD SCHOOL! I'm going for my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota - Moorhead this fall! HOT DAMN!!!!!
Okay, folks. Please notice the photo below. This is tattoo number 5, the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon on my left breast. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Luckily it is one of the most common and has a 95% survival rate. If you pray, please do so. If not, please keep our family in your thoughts.

MOM and family UPDATE 3-14-08
Everything looks good! She's done with her chemo and preventative treatments, she's doing really well. Her face is really healing, but she's still really sensitive to the wind (and we're in North Dakota now!) So she's doing great. My sister is expecting a new baby in September! WHEE! I'm going to be AUNTIE EM! Which is okay now that we're officially and literally not in Kansas anymore. That's the update!
MOM and family UPDATE 1-3-08
Hey folks - she's doing really well. She has one more treatment left and then we're DONE with treatments!!!! Everybody's doing really really well and ONE YEAR is almost done!
MOM and family UPDATE 7-21-07
She's doing great. At her last chemo the idiot doctor gave her one of the wrong meds but at least it was in the same family so the only problem is she sufferred a nasty redness to her face and body - but it could have been much worse. Now they know it was a severe rosacea reaction to the WRONG MEDS the nurse gave her. So she's getting her maintenance meds every three weeks in ND, and we're officially moving in to the new house on Aug 3. WOOOHOOO!!!
MOM UPDATE 4-12-07
She's doing well. Her 4th chemo really took it's toll on her, she's been physically and mentally exhausted the last couple weeks. chemo number 5 tomorrow, we'll see how she does.
MOM UPDATE 3-21-07
Okay she's doing AWESOME. She has her 4th chemo on Friday, March 23 and she hasn't lost her hair yet. The docs say she's doing great, she's in amazing spirits and I've often forgotten that she's even had her breasts removed. Kinda wierd talking about bras and how we have lopsided breasts in our family and she says "used to." I just forget, that's how normal everything feels, which is GREAT. So she's doing fantastically, and we couldn't be happier. If anybody's praying out there, it's working :)
MOM UPDATE 1-17-07
Chemo starts Friday. She's a bit worried since she's a small gal, she's pretty sure it will hit her hard. She's a strong lady tho, she can make it through.
UPDATE 1-3-07
Mom's doing well. Chemo starts in a few weeks. we'll see how she feels from there.
News - her lymph nodes are CLEAR - NOTHING - ZIP - ZERO!!! She's probably still going to do chemo, just in case there's something floating around, but we'll see.
MOM UPDATE!!!!! She's had her double mastectomy and is recouping well (as well as she can, major surgery, ya know). Good thing mom and dad chose the double - dr found another tumor in her left breast, but it was encapsulated so it hadn't gone anywhere. The right breast was precancerous, just waiting to get going. so YAY - that was a good decision.
I'm starting an AP family -
I can't hold a contest because I don't have enough points - but hey, if someone wants to be an AP sister, brother, mom, dad, kid, whatever - just let me know!
