I want to say I that miss you
But I should not.
I want to say I that love you
But I cannot.
If I missed you more
Would I cry?
If I loved you more
Would I die?
When I looked into your eyes
My heart melted into a million pieces.
When I took you in my arms
My mind put us on faraway beaches.
When you opened the door to my soul
My doubts were quickly shattered.
When you finally kissed me
My love you were all that mattered.
But I should not.
I want to say I that love you
But I cannot.
If I missed you more
Would I cry?
If I loved you more
Would I die?
When I looked into your eyes
My heart melted into a million pieces.
When I took you in my arms
My mind put us on faraway beaches.
When you opened the door to my soul
My doubts were quickly shattered.
When you finally kissed me
My love you were all that mattered.
Author notes
This is the 2nd poem in the space of a month. It's dedicated to Tania Hoffman, the new women in my life. Wow! It's been years since I felt this inspired. Over the last couple of years my poem written had slown down to about one poem a year.
