My Vietnam Vet

Ah Zaffen, my Vietnam Vet,
Life has given you lessons that others have no concept of,
A proud and patriotic man, let me comb those locks of grey,
Rub lineament into sore muscles at the end of the day.

We'll walk in the woods and you can show the wonders of the Ozarks,
I'll let you be my strong woodsman when we stumble across a
Cottonmouth, Copperhead or Rattler (I'm afraid of snakes you see).

I'll fry you up a fried chicken that would melt
In your mouth, as I feed it to you bite by bite.
We'll sit by the fire at night, talking and listening
About the lessons that life has taught.
A glass of wine while roasting marshmallows for S'more
Will be a quiet way to end the night.

Something so simple can sound so romantic It is not always the expensive dinners and black-tie affairs that make for a great evening. I am sure Zaffen will enjoy this. Best wishes in this contest,
