the angel's wings were broken
she flew too fast and hard trying to keep up with you
a need for speed you had, you couldn't slow down
"live hard and live fast" was your motto, not knowing
you were her charge to protect
most the time she could make it, a few she could not
you were lucky then, you didn't know it, the damage was small
this last time, you were faster than before
no matter how hard she flew, and hard she did fly
your need for speed broke her wings, she had to stop
this time you weren't so lucky, nor was she there to catch you
you crashed into a wall and now your dead
you should have live a long life
you died as you lived, and your angel paid the price.
Author notes
This is about a friend I had when I was younger. He lost control of his car and hit a cement wall. He was a casual friend.
