Thanks again for this one my love. Yes we have most certainly shown the world that we can not only survive change, but in fact become stronger and better because of it. I have a huge amount of belief in the future of this country. The secret lies in the youth: They are growing up so strong and positive - it is really exciting.

I will see if I can get another one done in time, Yes we have been approached by so many other countries, groups to help then in times of trouble, Our country is truly special and unique, in that while the world were holding there breath waiting for a bloodbath, though a truly South African miracle, we managed to unity and stride forward stronger than ever before! Yes we have our difficulties, but I would not give up Africa and our truly blessed way of life for anything right now!

Thank you Dins for entering this poem. I think it is true of this country and I know that many others have followed our progress with interest and have asked for help to help them with transition. I think this is a great acrostic. So, how about another entry , huh???

Wow. Nice poem. You highlight the frustration. It's quite nice. Acrostic poems are quite good to underly symbolism. Nice work!

i usually do not like acrostics, but I like your wording on this. I like the tangible anger- justified and the last two lines especially. I must say I enjoyed this.

    Gr8t efforts

The way the acrostic message seen in this text is quite thought provoking and good efforts.
FRUSTRATION is such a word, just to utter u feel the pinch of it.
    First of all
    Rampant social
    Understandings
    Solutions
    Takes us to
    Raw n Ruthless Reality
    Invoke
    Our Immediate observations
    Null n Void !

best of luck my dear Dragonsong !

Thank you Yemassee for a valued comment. Our country is amazing and has so much going for it. Yes we have our problems, like all the others, but we have moved through many challenges, and will continue to do so in the future.

I watched that recent history unfold here in America, and was amazed to see the transition in power without a evolution. It speaks well for all of the people of South Africa. Your Axcrostic is effective in pointing to the history and to the future.

Hmm, I do not really agree with this poem or the comments made on it. As a poem and an acrostic it is good, but once again, I do not agree with it.
South Africa is not progressing, it is regressing. More and more people are jobless, corruption is running wild. People exposing corruprion are punished.
    Public services are in shambles.
Hatred against whites are nurtured and in everything you see whites are pictured as bad and uncultured etc etc.
I'm not trying to say whites are perfect and have always been doing the right thing. Yes they made a lot of mistakes and did a lot of inhuman things, but that does not justify what is going on at the moment.
Rainbow nation...yea right...the only colour really benifiting is black...and there is not even black in the rainbow...nor white for that matter or brown.
I do not consider myself a racist, I'm not against blacks or browns or any colour, I just do not like what is happening to this country and the way people are treated.
OK, that was a whole long speech.
    Once again, nice poem.

Thank you angelica, yes Nelson Mandela is a special soul, who chose a difficult incarnation to teach the world many lessons. Even at his age he is still working for world peace! Thank you for your comments, they are truly appreciated! ~Dini~

A wonderful Acrostic on a country that has seen many changes, it's wonderful to see, I remember reading about Nelson Mandella and how he was wrongly accused. He is a wonderful man who is now doing much to help his Country. Well written.
    Good luck in our Contest.

yes, perseptions are exactly that, changable, and lessons can be learnt from the changes that our country has gone through! To many the greatest Hero of my country Nelson Mandela was branded a vilian! And he has gone on the teach the world compassion and forgiveness!

    Incredibly Powerful

This is really powerful stuff! Well done my love. You have captured the feelings of a nation that suffered terrible injustices at the hands of the apartheid regime.
Thanks to those young 'villains' of yesteryear, we now have a just society with the most advanced constitution in the world. I am so proud to be a South African and to be living here during these exciting, vibrant and uplifting times! Let us not forget the past, but strive to learn from its mistakes. I appreciate your choice of acrostic. It is very much how I feel today! I have missed you terribly. You are an incredible woman, my love.
