Stop the Hate

You  took your fist
You brought it across his face
You found out he was gay
So you ‘put him in his place’

The blood soaked his shirt
But you wouldn’t give up yet
You started at his wounded body
Bloody and  covered in sweat

“You stupid fag”
You said, and the boy began to cry
You spit upon his face
And kicked him one more time

He just lay there crying
Heartbroken and in pain
Slowly he got up
And walked home alone in the rain

He walked in almost silently
Going straight up to his room
This would be the place
This young soul would meet his doom

He sat silently on his bed
Writing out his note
He wanted to scream to someone
But the words caught in his throat

He put the gun to his head
The pain would end tonight
Everything went black
And it was finally alright

A mother lost her son
Another person to this fate
All she prays tonight
Is that we stop the hate

*~Abigail~*

    More than amazing.

This was very meaningful to me, and I'm sure it would me to most of my friends (it already was to one of them who read this before me). I respect you for writing this, and I wish that the rest of the world could see. I want to cry when I think of how people treat other people, in this case for sure. It was an amazing piece.
    Thank you for writing.

    wow, I'm practically cry.
I don't know why I'm telling you this, but as a gay guy, and someone who went through "something like that" I really felt moved that there are people who understand that this stuff goes on all the time
    Thanks alot!

Wow! This is one of the best pro-GLBT poems I've read in a long time. You stated your position clearly, but told a story while you did it. i also liked that you say 'you' in the poem, like 'You took your fist.' That was an interesting POV. I also loved the rhymes in this. They really gave the piece a nice rhythm and flow.

Great poem! I will absolutely be bookmarking and applauding this. keep it up!

Wow... This is really good. I loved it. You are an awesome writer. You can feel the hurt that they subject (sounds like some freaky science project) was feeling. You are a really good writer and I hope to hear again from you soon.

This was great and very moving, but very respectful of suicide. Well done. What happened to Matt sadly happens to many others, and people need to realize how much there actions effect people. That's a great message to spread.
