Twilight On Piedmont Backroads Returning
I'll appear again a pilgrim
Lowly thistle-bound bedraggled
With hunger cloy as Kudzu climbing
To this rank & rush pavilion
~sumptuous full,
heart's tipping gobblet,
Of rapture's clean hot flame
& shameless bare in worship glisten,
Past false hope tepid,
& flawed communion
Man's rite, a mawkish frame~
But only
Selah
To listen,
Listen long
Listen keen
At the edge of an
Emerald-gone-blue
harmonic
Rings transcendent,
Of Psalm sung green
In Leyland & Loblolly...
I'm David King
leaps-whirl-manic
Dancing naked inutterable joy.
