"I am tired of fighting windmills,
and I'm tired of chasing the wind,
I will not open my hands to find nothing ever again."

~Unknown

"I figure that once upon a time I was an ocean
But now I'm a mountain range
Something unstoppable set into motion
Nothing is different, but everything's changed"

~lyrics by Paul Simon

After reading my old description, I became aware of how different I really have become. The old description was describing a completely different girl from the one who is writing now. This change happened over the summer, I guess it must have been gradual enough for me not to notice it until this moment.

The majority of the poems posted on my site are about an old flame I used to have. I've since let go of the memories I had with him (or, in other words, I stopped clinging to them) and have happily moved on. He still stands as a strange metaphor in my mind, but he now resides in the distant hollows deep, deep in the back of my mind. I haven't been this happy in a long time. Alas, this happiness is also the reason for my lack of writing. It seems that my poetic powers are directly fueled by regret, loneliness, and tears.

My apologies to anyone who has missed me on here. I miss this site and the poems I used to create. I suppose the challenge has been posed for me now, hasn't it? To be able to write about feelings I'm not experiencing! I'll have to see whwat I can do.

Love and thoughts,

~Papillon~

God, you know, there used to be this like amazing talent here and she used to like post stuff and people would read it be amazed in sheer amazement of the amazing stuff they'd be reading and then they'd be like inspired and stuff and attempt to do the amazing things they'd read, on paper, only to find they were themselves more caterpillar than butterfly. But there was a butterfly, oh yes, there was a butterfly. It's true, I read her, used to do it all the time. I guess we're just not worthy...............

Having just completed my first contest I can sympathize with the difficulty of presenting one.
With those that don't follow the rules, as if they even bothered to read them in the first place, and the low number of entrants it can be discouraging.
If you try promoting it, you're throwing away points for the most part because the clicker vampirs will just steal you clicks and you'll be no further along then you were.
On that note I shall retire and ponder this.
Hopefully I can come up with something worthy of your efforts.
    Be well;
    Zaffen
