Paladin WarriorShow poetry

If the eyes of our souls tell us the
truth within us, then why are we
blind?

Is it because we choose not to see
ourselves as others do? Or, is it
something rooted deeper?

With these soulful ponderings,
I take vinager and linen
to the windows of my soul,
washing away worldy grime.

Grit leaves scratches,
eternally etched into glass,
ever distorting, it seems,
my kaleidoscopic view.

Yet others can see through
the blemishes.
Though marred over time's passing,
my soul shines through.

Soul searching takes a lifetime,
it's the way we choose our paths that
brings out the truth within ourselves

If the truth were that easy
then everyone would have
the answers they seek

So, I will continue to forge
through cracks and crevices
ever determined, undaunted,
to catch, even the most modest
of glimpses, of the me they see.
