"The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive. "
~Robert A. Heinlein
I won't hide the fact that I'm a bad poet. I say it outright, even. I like to think that most of my writing amounts to some worth, but when it comes to poetry, creativity and originality elude me.
I've been composing poetry for close to seven years now, with about one hundred poems in the bank and each one less gratifying than the last. I'm not being humble. On the contrary, I'm a fairly decent judge of poetry, so I can be assuredly honest with myself here.
Regardless, I invite you to look over what verse I've been audacious enough to post here, and give me some pointers. I don't mind harsh critiques, because I'm a harsh critic myself.
Cheers.

aliengurl2006 on June 1, 2004I read your poem Forsaken Beauty (Part III) that you entered in a contest, and then I came to your main page and found out you are a drum teacher (?) That's amazing. I'm a percussionist and I play snare during marching season. Sorry, I just thought that was really cool. -Katie

punksense on April 21, 2004I think the comments you make are wonderful. It's great that you are a tough critic. I'm glad I earned a 9/10 from you. If you wouldn't mind doing so, I'd like for you to randomly choose some poems I have written and edit/critique them. You've gotten a lot of respect out of me.
Thanks!
