Jenn I will try to put all I want to say into these poems
I post on here its just so hard to tell everything I like about because I love everything about you even your clumsiness and your black tinted dark brown hair from your competetive attitude in academics to my love of your voice I love everything about you

and this is my x-mas gift from her
"A not so Christmas poem for your Christmas gift"

& I'm sitting here staring at the clock
[not really doing what I'm supposed to in class]
55 minutes left till 3
[will this bell ever ring?!]

& I'm wondering what you are doing
while I sit here & stare at your picture
[I remember the first time I looked at it I was speechless & my heart skipped a beat]
& the first time I heard your voice
[I forgot everything I was going to say so I stayed quiet]

& the thing is I started to write this in November
right after we exchanged phone numbers
I just want this to be one of the best Christmas gifts for you
[I think its starting to become more of a narrative of my heart]

I'll probably have to rewrite this 100 times
[reword.reconstruct.reword.reconstruct]
This will be perfect for you
[even better than my last few]

& most people would say that I am crazy, obsessing this much over one guy
[but they've never met you, so how would they know anything?]
You aren't like every other guy there is
[you aren't perverted or obsessed with sex-
if you are you hide it too well]
I trust you enough to tell you everything
[but sometimes I get too nervous to]

Is it pathetic to say that the poems you write make me cry?
[even after the billionth time I've read them]
One of these days I'll write one that will make you cry

& we aren't just some teenage lovers in some random love story
[are we?]
[& sometime when I can't sleep at night
I'll imagine that you are next to me
& I would cuddle next to you as you start to kiss my neck]

& this long distance love affair can workout
[it already is, isn't it?]
& when did November turn into December?
[Christmas is way too overdone now]

Thousands of words in long emails, & hundreds of blurry computer screens later
[you can always find some way to make me blush & smile from miles away]

& if we lived closer together
would you catch me off guard & kiss me under the mistletoe?
& I've finally hit some inspiration
[& now this pencil just can't stop moving across this paper]

& the first time we meet from behind the blindfolds-
[behind the illuminated screens & away from awkward silences through the phone]
Would you hold me every night under the stars & never let go?

I've fallen for you & I'm never going to get back up
[uh-oh, that was a little cliche of me, wasn't it?]
You're like my knight in shining armor here to save me
[I keep writing these stupid cliches & I can't stop]
But I'm still so proud of these words I write
[about time, huh?]

I hope this wasn't too much for you
[& I hope it was enough to at least make you smile]
