\*Hmmmmmm. Sort of coming up blank with what I should put here, but I'll do my best. I was thinking about putting my name, but I feel it is better left unsaid. Description of self..... that should be interesting. I feel there is no better way to put it than geek at heart, and no, that doesn't mean I'm a loser. At least not in the way your thinking. Most of what a write is about love. Why? Because when I'm not writing about it, I'm wishing I was in it.....*\

Ava Noire on January 2, 2005Hello - Welcome to Allpoetry
This message will provide some useful information about the site and rules you will need to be aware of as a member.
Posting poetry
Allpoetry thrives on being an interactive community. To ensure individual participation you MUST read and comment on FOUR items for each ONE you post. Aside from the two freebies you get per day, you won’t be able to post your own work otherwise! Items include poems, contest poems, contests, Old Poetry poems and columns. Lists do not count. This column explains the benefits of interaction allpoetry.com/Poem/295643
Contests. Through contests you can compete with other poets with the opportunity to win points and trophies, as well as to get your work out there and your name noticed. As a new member you are eligible for the current new members contest allpoetry.com/poem/973791
As a writer you need to know about plagiarism. Misusing the work of another poet can get you banned from the site. And you need to know how to protect your work from being stolen. This column will provide the information you need to know. allpoetry.com/poem/693049
Membership
As a note of appreciation all new members are given a free four-day trial preferred membership. A membership is not required in order to post poems or comment, but it does make the AP experience a bit more exciting. Info at the Store link.
Help
The help link located at the top of the page can give you some pointers about the site and info regarding site helpers. We are here to help you so if you have a question or comment feel free to contact us. Also, please take a moment to look over the policies page. allpoetry.com/special/policies
Oldpoetry
Don’t forget to check out AP’s sister site, Oldpoetry. There you can explore the works of poets such as Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath, Edgar Allan Poe among countless others. Each week the OP team selects a poet from the OP archives to feature and a link to his/her poetry is located on AP's main page. www.oldpoetry.com
Site Extras
One of the many exciting features AllPoetry has to offer is the Adopt-a-Poet program. You can get adopted by another poet who can help you improve, or you can offer your critiques to another poet by adopting them. www.freewebs.com/adoptapoet/adopters.html
Under “misc” on the top menu bar you can explore some of the fun options the site has to offer, such as the “Most Applauded,” and “Most Popular,” lists. You may also perform searches and view the bulletin board to participate in open discussions with other members of the site. You may also view the current edition of AP’s magazine “Allwrite.”
I hope you enjoy being part of this growing community!
