aloha fellow poets!

my name is sherry.  i am eighteen years old, and i live in alaska.

i have been composing poetry for six or seven years.  when i first began at twelve, i thought i was the goddess of all poetry.  until one  year later, i read my poems - and i threw them all away.  now, at eighteen, i regret that.  these days, i keep each and every one of them.

what's my favorite style? favorite type? i don't believe in boxing poetry.  afterall, poetry is an emotions expressed in words.  emotions are always changing, never quite the same.  i like real poetry.  from the heart.  that doesn't necessarily mean love, hatred, happiness, sadness, confusion, dreamy, etc.  it's everything.  whatever you feel at the moment, if it's real...i love it.

after 4 long years of high school, i claimed my victory.  yippee.  i have a diploma.  

i am a college freshman in arizona.  it's gorgeous here.  i love the rain storms, the lightning, the thunder, and the sun.  it's incredible.  and my classes are just as incredible (except possibly, english).

college life is so much superior to high school...for all those poor souls still in junior high and high school...i sympathize.  the years actually go by quickly (contrary to the above).

i plan to major in nursing.  i want to be an e.r. nurse - though this profession does not require a bachelor's degree, i feel compelled to attend college.  as i've been told, it will offer many options.  i also want to be a photographer.  and maybe, someday...publish a book of poetry.
