WHY DO I WRITE?
To be noticed? To ease the pain? To exorcise demons? To maintain the fragile balance between order and chaos? No. I write because it amuses me. Occasionally, it amuses others - and that amuses me as well. My most prolific style is humorous verse and parody. I place a very high value on well-crafted wit and, as such, must credit AP's resident wordsmith, silica, for raising the bar and serving as a veritable whetstone. On occasion, I do challenge myself with other forms and subject matter - a practice attributed almost entirely to the influence of AP's own twisted butterfly (formerly known as lostsoulpoet).

That every poet is a fool:
But you yourself may serve to show it,
That every fool is not a poet."

silica : Rambabbling-chatdrivelling on July 16, 2007How great it is to see you still passing through – even if the muse has not moved you. I too have been in the doldrums since I finished the saga… perhaps rhyme has its limit and a person can flatten the badinage battery… Luckily I live in a rural environment so I can just go out in the back garden and hold onto an electric fence for a jump start… although some of my rhyme does seem a little erratic… it is suppose to help my mad cow’s and alzheimer’s diseases… although who told me that evades my… whatsit.
Sorry if I lured you in by false pretences and you remember that one – I was playing with the clock edit thingy and couldn’t put it back – doh! A bit like summer time… (not when the living is easy – but when we muck about with the clocks.) Are you still planning on the advanced coarse¿? (sic & sick) - If so, count me in¡!

castaway-poet on October 24, 2006I would really like to sign up for your class, will it ever be available? It always says that the site has to be updated. Maybe it is for invite only?
Just wondering,

Where once a plethora of poets penned,
Now dead silence all in thralls,
Save the crescendo of falling dust…
And mildew’s burgeoning shawls.
To dust ink fades on shriven sheets,
Mused meanings mummified
A theme of a dream that once had been…
Anonymously ascribed.
